The 3 most common mistakes we make when we diet:
1. Believing that âI am the problemâ â when you believe that, youâre never going to be successful because in your subconscious mind you have cultivated a âstrugglerâ identity. I struggle to lose weight, I struggle to stay on a diet, I struggle with cravings, I struggle to control myself⊠You see yourself as a failure from the start.
2. Creating the habit of âstarting againâ â it keeps you in a cycle of perfection, where youâre either being âgoodâ or âbadâ, on the diet or off it. If youâre focused on âbeing goodâ then you go off track, what do you do? "Oh, stuff it! Iâm going to start again on Monday" â and in the meantime you might as well eat everything in sight!
3. Depriving yourself â most people really want to get that weight off quickly, which is totally understandable, because when youâre struggling with your weight you just want to get far away from the pain as quickly as possible, and move to feeling good about yourself. But if you don't love and care for yourself now, why would you make the effort to lose the weight? You want to start by feeling good about yourself right now, so that you can create a way of living that you really enjoy, thatâs nourishing and you will stick to for life. Ultimately those short-term diets wonât last, they never do, they just make you feel awful about yourself.
Thatâs why itâs so important to work with your subconscious mind, to start at the root cause of your weight issue and to get the right tools that will keep you on track.
Because just hoping that this time will be different is not a great strategy for long term weight loss.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy has a great track record in helping people make positive changes across many areas of their life - and this includes weight loss. It's more than a guided visualisation helping you to relax, it includes 'change work' that encourages subtle shifts in your subconscious.
But don't worry, you won't be barking like a dog or clucking like a chicken! Kickstart your weight loss...
This is not a prescriptive diet - after all, you already know what foods to eat, how to exercise, and what works for you! - but you might like a little help and that's what this programme gives you.
You'll learn how your brain works, and in particular that subconscious part of your brain that is home to your identity, beliefs and habits. Understanding these three areas is critical if you want to make long-lasting changes, to re-set your relationship with food so that losing weight stops being about what you can't eat to creating a way of life that you love, eating the foods that nourish you.
We also look at key strategies in setting your mindset and your environment to support you, and some weight loss skills that will be invaluable to maintaining your weight loss for good.
There are additional coaching/hypnosis audio sessions such as taking control of alcohol, and ditch your sugar cravings as well as hypnosis audios to keep you motivated and to reduce stress.
This programme dives deep into the subconscious, so you can stop relying on willpower to lose that weight and instead turn on your mindpower.
How it works...
The programme is split over 3x 2 hour sessions via Zoom, you'll join a small group of people all going through the same journey - and it's all recorded so if you do miss a session you can catch up.
You'll get notes so you can read through the information (but do also take your own notes as you watch or listen to the Zoom sessions), you'll have the hypnosis/coaching audios to use, as well as access to our private Facebook group for peer support and additional resources, and there's the bonus video 'Health, Hormones & Menopause'.

This programme is suitable for all adults (over the age of 18) who want to lose weight but itâs worth pointing out a couple of restrictions:
1. If you are very stressed or anxious, I strongly recommend a couple of private hypnotherapy sessions in order to maximise the benefits of the course. Please contact me to discuss. As youâll learn, stress plays a particular part in your weight journey, it interrupts hormonal balances, so making sure youâre not overly-stressed is a key foundation to really getting the most out of this course â a little normal day-to-day stress is fine, and in fact it can be helpful.
2. I do not advise you do this course if you have a history of a diagnosed eating disorder (e.g. Anorexia) or any medical condition for which weight loss would be inadvisable. If in doubt, please check with your GP.
And itâs time for a reality check: This is not a magic wand! You need to take some responsibility for the choices you make. However, people who really engage with the process report that their cravings reduce significantly, and they become much more able to make wise choices as they feel in control, calmer, and much happier as a result.
About Me
I'm a clinical hypnotherapist, holding both the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH), and the higher Hypnotherapist Practitioner Diploma (HPD), considered the 'gold standard' in hypnotherapy in the UK.
